LPW - Vulcain, Swiss, button hole watch, 27mm main case diameter, 13mm upper portion containing dial, 18K gold original case with initials to rear, white enamel dial, SW-SS, lever escapement, likely 15J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#514867 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 10.5 dwt (16.4 g). Button hole watches are rarely seen in 18K gold.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly on a full wind, balance motion better in dial up position than dial down, overhaul recommended, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with areas of finish loss including all of balance cock and virtually all of barrel bridge; dial with small chipping at center; excellent hands; case shows little wear, profuse micro-fine scratches to rear, mild dent to band at 2:30, some nicks or mild dings elsewhere to band, few nicks to rear, excellent engraving detail; crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal with small amounts of glue excess evident at its seat.
